HEALING SHAME TO HEAL OUR DEEPEST HURTS

One of life's biggest and deepest wounds is shame. Shame is a deep sense that I am not worthy or good enough to be loved or forgiven. This feeling makes it difficult to be in loving relationships with others, ourselves or with God. Guilt may come and go as we are forgiven or reconciled. But shame touches our entire self. We feel inadequate and unlovable. This shame becomes a core part of our being and may be acted out in addictions, compulsions and destructive relationships. This one-day workshop will focus on the dynamics of healing shame so that our deepest hurts can be healed.

Presenter: Fr. Matt Linn, S.J. & Jeanne Jones, Ph.D.
Fr Matt Linn is an internationally known author and retreat director. He has been involved for years in retreat and healing ministry, nationally and internationally, and has been with us annually for many years.
Dr. Jones is a licensed psychologist with a private practice in counseling and is a spiritual director from St. Paul, MN. She has done extensive writing and workshops on shame.
She is a wife, mother and grandmother.

HEALING OUR IMAGE OF GOD TO HEAL LIFE’S HURTS – A WEEKEND RETREAT

When we've been wounded, we often withhold our trust of God and others. Healing occurs as we develop a loving image of God. This weekend retreat will use Eric Erickson's eight stages of development to heal our negative memories and strengthen our positive memories. With this firm developmental foundation, we will experience a God of love healing us in our past, present and even future crises. As scripture promises, we know that God works in all things for the good of those who love God. (Rm 8:28)
