Just before the summer comes and Alaska bursts out in a frenzy of activity, there lingers a time in April between the seasons that invites us to take one last deep breath, rest in silence and lean closer into our relationship with God. Come and center your soul in the gift of a silent retreat. Brief presentations will focus the time of quiet and there will be time for sharing your reflections in small groups. Spiritual direction will be available as well as hiking and kayaking as weather permits.
Never been to a silent retreat?
Not sure you could be quiet that long?
Come, let the Spirit surprise you!
Marcia Wakeland,is a spiritual director, Lutheran pastor, retreat leader and writer. She has learned the value of silence through centering prayer and the sanctuary of wilderness. She enjoys the art of pilgrimage and seeing others access their own divine wisdom. She is a longtime Alaskan and enjoys travel and adventure, especially the journey within.
