kathleen@edemir.ccsend.com
Join us for this transformational work.
The Weekly Healing Meditations will take place on Wednesday, evenings, starting August 19th at my home in Georgetown (1314 29th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20007) between Dumbarton and N Streets. The doors will open at 7:00 pm and Edemir will start promptly at 7:30 and finish by 9:00.
The cost each week is $30; if you purchase a series of four, the cost will be $100 ($25 each.) Feel free to let me know you are coming, but there is no need to reserve a seat. You can drop in any Wednesday when you can.
The benefits of working with a gifted shaman and healer like Edemir is that he can hold the energy in the room in such a way that it will boost your meditation experience and speed along your spiritual development. Scientific testing has proven the many benefits of a regular meditation practice. Working with Edemir during these Wednesday night meditations, you can expect the following:
- Healing of your mind, body, emotions and spirit
- An increase in your creative energy
- A boost to your health
- An easier time sleeping
- An improvement to your mental and emotional balance
- A renewed sense of joy and contentment with life
Edemir will also work on raising our vibrational level and will clear energy blockages that can be interfering with health, happiness, success, or overall well-being.
Each week, he will speak to us briefly about a topic that will be calibrated to the energy of the group and led by Edemir's spirit guides.
We hope to see you often!!

Praying with the Mystics Series
Make a Date with a Mystic
A Free Series and Open to the Public
Tuesdays, 7:30-9pm
January - June 2010
"When I think of mystics, I think of ordinary people living out an incredibly intimate experience of relationship with God - gifted, too, with wisdom, grace and spiritual communion. And I wonder what the message is for me in my life today."
Please join us Tuesday evenings as we immerse ourselves in the stories of fourteen ordinary men and women who led extraordinary, God-gifted lives. Learn what they have to teach us today and how their lives can still inspire and influence us.
Each evening will include an introduction to the mystic, prayer, and small group sharing. No registration necessary. Free will offerings gratefully accepted.

School of Prayer
Winter session: Wednesdays, January 13 - February 24, 2010
(skipping Ash Wednessday, February 17)
Co-sponsored By SHALEM INSTITUTE & WASHINGTON NATIONAL CATHEDRAL
In challenging times, we often turn to prayer, searching for meaning and a deeper sense of God's presence. We also may seek new ways of praying and the support of a spiritual community.
The School of Prayer is especially designed to address these needs.
The School of Prayer consists of three six-week group segments (Fall, Winter and Spring) that can be taken separately or progressively throughout the year. Each segment is designed to offer introductions to various ways of praying that draw from the rich treasures of the Christian contemplative tradition. Many modern-day seekers find that these ancient practices are doorways into God and vital spiritual resources for the times we live in. Each session also offers the unique opportunity to experience spiritual community with other participants.
The individual evenings will include a brief teaching about a prayer form, experiential time for opening to God through that particular way of praying, and opportunities for shared reflection with other participants. Each meeting builds on the previous sessions, so participants should plan to attend all six weeks of any segment.
* Whether you feel like a beginner in prayer…
* Or you want to deepen a particular prayer practice…
* If you'd like to explore new ways of praying…
* Or are seeking the support of a spiritual community…
Dates: Winter session: Wednesdays, January 13 - February 24, 2010
(skipping Ash Wednessday, February 17)
Time: Week 1: 7-9:30 PM | Following Weeks: 7-9 PM

She is a widely respected leader of ecumenical retreats, groups, and conferences, and a seasoned pilgrimage guide to sacred sites throughout Europe and the Middle East.
Bill Dietrich, a Quaker, is a graduate of Shalem's Leading Contemplative Prayer Groups & Retreats and Spiritual Guidance Programs. He is a longtime spiritual director and retreat leader and teaches in several of Shalem's short and extension programs.
