Walking a Sacred Path
Join us on pilgrimage to the charming medieval village of Chartres, France for a week-long program of self-reflection, tours of the world-renown Chartres Cathedral, and a private candlelit walk on the “mother of all” labyrinths.
Cycle One: September 6th - 10th, 2010
Lauren Artress and Mary Hamilton
The Spiral of Transformation:
Deepening Compassion for Self and Others.
You will have the opportunity and the space to shed your old skin, to drop into the timeless, spaceless world of soul, to touch the divine spirit within, and to reconnect with your spiritual compass.
Through morning seminars, we will learn about the interface between psyche and soma, the soul and the body, and how maturation occurs in a spiral pattern. We will explore the sensory nature of the inner spiral of transformation. Through focusing on the moment-to-moment experience while engaging tools to befriend our true self, we will uncover the inner tenderness of our compassionate nature. This enlivening process reveals another step on our life’s journey.
Veriditas Facilitator Training: September 11th - 12th, 2010
Lauren Artress
Learn to offer the labyrinth experience to others in professional, in-depth 2 day training.
Cycle Two: September 13th - 17th, 2010
Brother David Steindl-Rast, hosted by Lauren Artress
Grateful Living
No matter where we are, grateful living is the key to discovering the sacredness of life’s path. But at some blessed places on this Earth and Chartres is one of them the sacred touches us with almost no effort on our part. In the sacred surroundings of one of the most famous medieval cathedrals, which Orson Welles called “this grand choiring shout of affirmation” we will breathe in the essence of gratefulness and will practice forms of grateful living tailored to the individual needs of participants.

Currently the Dharmahouse operates as a retreat centre offering courses and retreats, although one of our main long-term projects is to raise awareness around our aim of establishing a cohousing community. This will be a community of up to 10 houses, based on the ideals of Dharma practice and living close to nature. A neighbourhood of like-minded people, supporting and connecting with each other. |
