Each of us is a co-creator, a carrier of the new consciousness. The future is within us, like the oak in the acorn, and it is unfolding in the creation of our lives, our stories, and our artistic expressions. Director: Wendy Cotter, CSJ – Synoptic Gospel specialist, professor, author & retreat leader

When I was a graduate student, I dreaded taking the necessary course on Paul because I thought he was sexist and caught in the first century, endorsing slavery and women’s subordination. Then I discovered in the courses, that those are precisely the letters that Paul did not write! Instead we see the Apostle with women friends and leaders and married couples on whom he counted! Together we will share a retreat with St. Paul and be inspired by his love of Christ and longing to reach out to everyone in the world in Christs’ name.

Daily Eucharist.

Offering: $420. $75 deposit. Early Bird: $395, if registered by May 7, 2012.

  • DARING TO EMBRACE THE OTHER: Doing Peace in Our Day
    Sun., June 10, 5:30pm – Sat., June 16, 2012, 9:30am
Director: Kathy Warren OSF – author, lecturer, producer, Franciscan Pilgrimage Program guide

Too many people in this world are having a difficult time living peacefully with those who are “other.” Peacemaking occurs when people hear about and see peace initiatives – whether simple and ordinary ones or bold and unusual ones. Francis of Assisi’s timeless vision and spirituality is at the core of this retreat as we reflect on both ordinary and extraordinary ways to “do” peace. Francis’ encounter with the Sultan of Egypt, Malek al-Kamil, stands as a poignant paradigm for our time as we seek ways to respect differences among people and to tame the violence in our world. This retreat explores the questions about how to live as neighbor with those we do not know or understand even as we commit ourselves to being more forgiving and accepting of those closest to us. Daily Eucharist.

Offering: $420. $75 deposit. Early Bird–$395, if registered by May 14, 2012.

  • EARTHBOUND & MYSTICAL – Using the Psalms as a School of Prayer

This retreat will explore prayer (psalms) in the light of issues of personal suffering and national disaster, individual hope and the collective aspirations that constitute the human spiritual terrain. It will explore the deep concerns that form the heartbeat of the book of Psalms, questions of suffering, social justice and worship. Two formal sessions a day, with time for faith sharing and psalm praying throughout the retreat. Daily Eucharist.

Offering: $400. $75 deposit. Early Bird: $375, if registered by May 28, 2012.

  • ENGAGING WOMEN IN THE ORDINARY MYSTERIES OF LIFE
    Sun., July 8, 2012, 5:30pm – Sat., July 14, 2012, 9:30am
Director: Ann Willitts OP – worldwide itinerant preacher, Lands of Dominic pilgrimage leader

We all know by heart the joyful, sorrowful, and glorious mysteries of the Rosary. Some people even know the luminous mysteries! But there are other mysteries within the pages of scripture which seem to be ordinary mysteries. If we listen to our lives we discover how many ordinary mysteries there are, and in that discovery, the gospel happens. We will reflect on some of these mysteries which we find not only in the life of Jesus and Mary and the early disciples but also in our lives. We will reflect on these ordinary mysteries like displacement, gratitude, friendship and others. Daily Eucharist.

Offering: $400. $75 deposit. Early Bird: $375, if registered by June 11, 2012.
