Find God in all things...

Pat is a certified spiritual director and retreat leader who marvels at the profound love our God has for each of Her/His creations. He is a graduate of the Ignatian Spirituality Institute at John Carroll University and is completing his MA in Pastoral Ministry at Boston College in 2008. He is directing retreats focused on discernment this summer:

Changing jobs? Moving? Graduating? Turning 30, 40, 50 or 60? Retiring? Feeling called to action, but not sure where to go? We all face many times of transition in life. They are often bewildering.

This might be the time that you will benefit from a discernment retreat. You may not come away from the retreat with a clear answer to your dilemma, but you will leave it confident in the love and guidance of the Holy Spirit and with a clearer sense of the next steps you need to take.

Discernment is a gift of wisdom that has been passed down by the holy women and men who came before us. Practicing discernment helps us open our hearts to watch and listen for the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

A Directed Retreat provides an ideal setting for discernment. It gives us the time to find the quiet places of our heart. Pat will serve as a director on individually directed retreats at four retreat houses around the country this summer.

Living Mindfully: The Medicine of Deep Listening
Reflection, Wellness, Prayer

Our spiritual life is a great treasure needing constant renewal and care. We cannot minister to others without replenishing our own spirits. This silent retreat is an invitation to honor your soul's need for reflection, to pause for the medicine of deep listening. You will be reminded of God's breathing in you and spend time in the ground of your own being. Sister Macrina will explore with you a way of being attentive to the hours of the day, and search for ways to live reflectively right in the midst of the busyness of daily life. Themes will be drawn from her latest book, "Seven Sacred Pauses". The moving story of the Emmaus Journey (Luke 24: 13-32) will be our scripture companion for the retreat. Sessions will include some conference time, quiet time for reflection, faith sharing and prayer.
