• A Time for Discernment
  This eight-day directed retreat based on the Spiritual Exercises is offered for anyone facing a significant transition in life and desiring to follow God more faithfully. This does not need to be a separate retreat, but can be included along with a directed retreat involving other directors. Pat is offering this retreat in Ohio, Massachusetts, New Mexico and Colorado this year.
  
  
• Faith is a Team Effort
  It is often written that we live in an age of isolation and alienation. This underscores the need for each of us to develop a community of Soul Friends to support us in our efforts to enter into the solitude of prayer. Faith is a Team Effort is a weekend retreat that is being offered in Indiana and Massachusetts this year.
  
  
• Listening for the Heartbeat of God
  We can learn a great deal from the faith of the men and women of the Celtic isles who lived active, contemplative lives in constant awareness of God’s love and presence in all of creation. This weekend retreat explores the Celtic practices of listening and watching for the Triune God, their saints, and their Soul Friends, and how these practices can strengthen our own relationship with God and our world. This retreat is offered in Ohio, Massachusetts and North Carolina this year.
  
  
• Retreats Within Daily Life for Individuals
  God wants to meet us where we live. Most retreats expect you to go away to a retreat house. This retreat offers a full experience of the St. Ignatius’ Spiritual Exercises for the retreatant at home. Pat meets weekly with each retreatant in person or by SKYPE.
  

Inner Harmony

Health and healing have been areas of passionate interest in Kathryn's life work. For over 30 years Kathryn has practiced the art of healing as a nurse and spiritual director. She brings to Inner Harmony life experience not only as spiritual director and nurse, but also as a visionary leader, and teacher.

Kathryn holds a AAS in nursing, a BA in psychology, a Master of Divinity, and a Doctorate in Ministry in Spiritual Direction. She is also a teacher of the Enneagram and systems theory in organizations, is a Reike practitioner, and is an ordained minister. Kathryn has experience working with persons from many cultures and faith backgrounds. In addition, she has experience in working with those who struggle with addictions, abuse, grief, sexuality issues, life transitions, vocation, divorce, and groups. Kathryn is a supervisor and teacher for students of spiritual direction.

You can read Dr. Mercadante's story in her most recent book: Bloomfield Avenue: A Jewish-Catholic Jersey Girl's Spiritual Journey [Rowman & LIttlefield, Cowly Imprint, 2006]. Dr. Mercadante is a prolific author of more than 50 articles and five books, she lectures internationally, conducts seminars to a wide variety of audiences, and teaches on such topics as addiction recovery, gender and theology, faith and film, and spiritual memoir writing.

Dr. Mercadante is B. Robert Straker Professor of Historical Theology at The Methodist Theological School in Ohio, a member of the Scioto Valley Presbytery, and an active participant in many professional groups including, The American Academy of Religion and The Workgroup on Constructive Theology. She is a Fellow of The Center of Theological Inquiry at Princeton and The Ecumenical Institute at St. John's University. She has received numerous grants from such groups as The Louisville Institute and The Association of Theological Schools.
