Welcome to Evensong Retreat and Spirituality Center, located on Cape Cod, in Harwich Port, MA, close to the shores of Nantucket Sound.

Evensong is an ecumenical retreat center, operated in the Christian Spiritual Tradition, which welcomes people of all faith and spiritual traditions. Our mission is to provide a sacred and safe space to which all people are welcome for peaceful rest, renewal and spiritual support.

We offer peaceful setting in a quiet, residential neighborhood across the road from Allen Harbor. Brooks Road Beach is just a ten minute walk away. For three seasons of the year our beautiful gardens offer numerous nooks for prayer or meditation. "Margaret's Path," our seven circuit labyrinth, is available for those who enjoy meditative movement.

During the winter months the "other" natural beauty of Cape Cod emerges, stark and intriguing beneath the cold skies, nestled in the deep quiet. St. Mary of Magdala Chapel, located on our grounds, is available for those who wish a serene indoor space for prayer and meditation. Overnight guests are offered private rooms with private baths and three meals daily. Evensong is available for your personal retreat, or for group retreats. Let our staff work with you to meet your needs whether you are seeking spiritual direction, a quiet afternoon of prayer, or a personal or group retreat.

The Empty Bell is a sanctuary for the study and practice of Christian meditation and prayer, giving special attention to the Christian-Buddhist dialogue. Our purpose is to learn the history and practice of the Christian contemplative path as it is rooted in the Hebrew and Christian scriptures, and to explore its common ground with other faiths. We cultivate artistic expressions of spiritual insight, and seek ways to embody these insights in compassionate social, environmental and political action.

Advent is a season of hopeful expectation. It is often brought to life in our secular world as we watch children await Christmas day with joyful hope and anticipation. We can learn from them. After all we started out as children. This retreat will use presentation, discussion, time for private prayer and group prayer as participants seek to rediscover the child like hope that God longs for each of us to have. This retreat can be expanded to an overnight experience for those who wish.
